A gathering place for residents and visitors alike, Old Police Headquarters is central to the twenty-one acre Seaport District vision. Located in an area often identified as the Historic Downtown Harborfront and South Embarcadero, Old Police Headquarters is amongst the other well-known and popular attractions of Seaport Village, Ruocco Park, Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, and the Marina. The Port of San Diego, in conjunction with Terramar Retail Centers and other developers, has initiated a revitalization of this area starting with the renovation of Old Police Headquarters. Future improvements will include expansion of Ruocco Park at Harbor Drive and Pacific Coast Highway; renovation and expansion of Seaport Village; renovation of Harbor Seafood Mart; and pedestrian, bike and shuttle connections with North Embarcadero redevelopment area including major commercial and hospitality projects known as Navy Broadway Complex and Lane Field. These master plan improvements will occur in phases shortly after completion of the Old Police Headquarters renovation. An ideal location with a bright future, Old Police Headquarters is poised to become the premier destination experience on the San Diego waterfront.
